First Laughs

Long night at Opera House, missed the first 15min but Wrigley was on good form as MC and show flowed smoothly. Stand out moments for me were Irishwoman Maeve Higgins’ amusing ramblings, and it wasn’t just the accent, Benjamin Crellin’s punchy set at the top attacking swine flu hype amongst other societal concerns, Cori’s agressive heckler put down, I think the only one of the night? Seemed everyone was on form. Will try to see Maeve Higgins tomorrow night before James Keating and Cinco de Mayo with Derek Flores who tore the Opera House apart last night.
Bit of a stink review for Wayne Brady http://www.theatreview.org.nz/reviews/review.php?id=2136 but as Wrigley said, sometimes the bad reviews kinda make you want to go along to see whether you disagree or not.
